Spring 2018 Soccer Information

The dates and times on this page are subject to change.

This league will improve the skill and confidence of each player in the sport of soccer, while developing character through teamwork and encouragement.

What is PSO?
Prestonwood Sports Organization was established in 1999 to provide an opportunity for children to learn about soccer, sportsmanship and teamwork in a loving and supportive atmosphere.  PSO focuses on developing essential fundamental skills while providing fun and competitive games.  We require that all players play half of every game.

Registration Fees & Information
PSO soccer offers U4 coed and U5-U10 boys and girls teams. Spring 2018 registration opens December 8th2017 and ends January 20, 2018. To see league fees and to register, visit the Player Registration and Information page.

Spiritual Development
In keeping with the mission of PSO, PSO soccer is committed to introducing Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord to our players and mentoring them in the Christian life by the example set by our coaches and league officials.  To that end, coaches will be supplied with value lessons that will be shared weekly with their players before each game.  Additionally, prayer will be common at practices and games.  The Gospel will be presented to all players seven (7) years and older, during our skills clinic, giving them the opportunity to respond to Christ's call on their lives.

Head Coaches & Assistant Coaches
PSO leagues strive to make every child a champion.  Therefore, PSO coaches are led to encourage, motivate, and build each child’s self-esteem as well as his or her athletic ability.

All PSO soccer head coaches and assistant coaches are required to register online for free and submit an online volunteer background check. Visit the Coach Registration and Information page for more details.

Practice Schedules
Each team will have one practice a week that will include one hour on the PSO soccer fields. Coaches schedule this practice with PSO. Parents need to contact their coach for practice details. If you are a coach, go to the Coach Registration and Information page for more details on how to request a practice time. If additional practice time is desired, the coach will have to schedule that on his/her own at a location other than Prestonwood.

League Schedules
Start and end dates can vary so, check registration page for exact dates and times.

Teams will participate in an eight (8) game season. Regularly-scheduled season games will be played on Saturdays.

There will be a ninth (9th) game schedule at the end of the season for tournament and consolation games. The post-season tournament is for qualified U5, U6, U7, U8, U9 and U10 teams. Consolation games will be scheduled for all age groups in the league therefore all teams will play at least one game on that day.

Game Locations
All games are played on our PSO soccer fields, sized for the individual leagues.  The PSO fields are located along Plano Parkway, west of Midway.

Team Formation
Teams are formed based on age and ZIP code. PSO accepts full or partial teams.  Players will be placed on teams after the final registration deadline.  A player CANNOT be assigned to a team unless the online registration is complete and payment has been received.  There are two player placement possibilities:

1. Player Pool (New Players) – Players entering PSO who are not on an established team will be placed on teams as close as possible to their ZIP code and/or school. Please indicate any special notes in the “Preferred Coach” section of online registration.

2. Team Pool — Coaches of returning teams must invite all their players to play again. You will receive an email with a code from your head coach to register your player. Your player will automatically be placed on the same team as last season. Do not share this code with others. Players who played with PSO last season may request to be placed in the player pool if they do not wish to return to the same team. Players are not allowed to request to play on a specific team unless they are a new player in our league or have not played at PSO for one year.

Players who wish to sign up after January 20th will not be guaranteed placement on a team.  Consideration will be on a “first come, first served” basis depending on the number of openings on current teams and will be charged a $25 late fee. Otherwise, players might be placed on a newly-formed team based on the availability of a coach.

Spring 2018 Age
Participants will play in their corresponding age division following the below school age group chart. Whatever your age is July 31st is what age group you play in. PSO feels it's important for your child to be able to play with their school friends. You can play up with director approval. Any questions please call 972-820-5226.

No jewelry (necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings) will be allowed at games for the safety of all players. Using tape or band aids to cover jewelry will not be allowed. Jewelry will need to be removed.

Contact Jenny Bessonette at or 972-820-5226 with questions.
