Cornerstone Martial Arts

Instructor: Marian Kirby

Class Times: Monday and Wednesday 5:30-6:30pm and Saturday 10:00-11:00am

Class Location: S212

Class Description:
Cornerstone Martial Arts provides both faith and fitness for the family as it builds champions with “karate for Christ.” Women, men and children (ages 4 and up) may sign up for this program that builds character while focusing on discipline, attitude and respect.

Faith is developed and nourished as each class begins and ends with prayer, with a brief biblical message of inspiration during the class.

The fitness of the program teaches self-defense and provides stress relief through lessons that build champions while bolstering courage to make positive life choices and to rise to any occasion. Parents, ask about building confidence in your children through the “Don’t Be Scared! Be Aware and Prepared!” child-safety program.  Contact fitness@prestonwood.org for info on how to register.

Core Values

Instructor: Toby Graham

Class Times: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 9:30 AM and Saturday 8:00 AM

Class Location: SFC Weight Room

Class Description:
Core Values is a small-group strength training class for women consisting of a unique blend of strength, balance, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness so that you get a total body strength workout every time you attend class.  Contact fitness@prestonwood.org for info on how to register.

TNT (TIGHTEN & TONE)

Instructor: Maria Bower

Class Dates:  Ongoing (start date:  5/10/16)
Day/Time:    Tuesdays & Thursdays, 8:30 AM
Class Location: SFC, Second Floor
Cost:  $30 PROMO per month for May, June, July, & August 

Class Description:
This is an ongoing exercise class geared toward women designed for weight loss support.  Beginners and those returning to exercise are welcome.  This class is designed to develop muscular endurance.  Light resistance combined with high reps are utilized to tone and strengthen.  Balance and flexibility are also addressed.  This class is in a studio setting using light weights, bands, and balls.  Please bring your own mat.  First class is free.  This class can be taken as a stand alone workout or can be combined with the 7 week Faith vs Weight Behavioral Change Course

Faith Moves

Instructor: Licia Chenoweth

Class Times: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9:30-10:30am

Class Description:
This class teaches yoga-style moves that promote:

  • Increased flexibility and balance
  • Better posture
  • Breathing and mental focus
  • Less stress
  • Increased blood flow
  • Heart health

LiveWire Fitness Powerhouse Boot Camp

Morning Class Times: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday  5:15 - 6:15 AM
Class Location: SFC Gymnasium

Evening Class Times: Monday & Thursday   7:30 - 8:30 PM
Class Location: West Side of SFC (Indoor/Outdoor)

Class Description:

This four week high energy, high intensity boot camp fitness class is result driven to reshape your life. Our community provides encouragement, accountability and inspiration to help you meet your fitness goals. Our individualized program includes a one on one meeting with trainer, nutrition plan, daily emails with recipes, motivation, weekend workouts and more!  

The workouts include functional fitness, strength, HIIT, interval and circuit training, sprints, sports conditioning, plyometrics, cardiovascular conditioning and more. We keep things interesting and upbeat with all types of equipment so get ready to have fun as you get fit. Includes orientation, group grocery tour and nutritional guidance. All fitness levels welcome, classes are held indoor/outdoor.

S.C.O.R.E. Athletic Training

Class Description:
Based in North Texas, S.C.O.R.E is where athletes go when they want to take their game to the next level through accelerated learning. Whether you are just trying to make the team or get noticed by the next level in sports, S.C.O.R.E has the right program for you.

The mission of S.C.O.R.E is to provide athletes in all sports the best all around training and development program available. S.C.O.R.E conducts mini-camps and personal workouts for youth, high school, college and pro players alike. Founded by Coach Robert McAllister, S.C.O.R.E has produced division 1A and 1AA athletes around the country on scholarship.  Contact fitness@prestonwood.org for info on how to register.

Speed & Agility Sport Camp for Youth Athletes

Class Description:
These camps will focus on the fundamentals of linear speed (straight line running) and agility training (multi-directional movements).  The camp will be open for kids 7 years of age to 14.  The campers will be grouped according to age and ability.  We will teach basic training components that apply to young kids.  Training components will include: balance, coordination, timing, rhythm, running mechanics (upper & lower) starts, acceleration, top speed, agility (multi-directional movements), core training, flexibility, body weight exercises to train overall strength and much, much more.
