This list does not include all possible symptoms. The CDC continues to update this list as we learn more about COVID-19.

PSO Children’s Basketball - Practice Protocol

  1. Because of gym capacity limitations, parents are not allowed to attend practices.  Parents may escort their children into the Sports & Fitness Center lobby to make sure they connect with their team. Once children are with their coaches and teammates, parents must leave the facility until the practice is finished. If parents should have a reason to enter the gym, they must wear masks and remain inside only briefly.
  2. Everyone 10 and over must wear a mask into the SFC. Coaches will be required to wear masks inside and outside of the facility. Coaches are required to wear masks or face coverings during practice but may pull them down to instruct players. Coaches must pull up masks when they are within six feet of other coaches or players. Once inside the gym, masks are optional for players.
  3. Players must bring their own water bottles for practice. Water fountains will not be available for use. Players must place water bottle, bags and any other equipment on spots marked “X” along the wall and track. These spots will be spaced apart to allow for distancing during water breaks.
  4. Coaches and players should arrive at their exact practice time. If you arrive a few minutes early, please remain outside the gym until your court is clear.
  5. Teams will be asked to follow the arrows marked on the floor while entering and exiting the SFC.

PSO Children’s Basketball - Game Day Protocol

  1. Everyone 10 and over must wear a mask into the SFC. Spectators are required to wear masks while inside the facility. Masks for players are optional once the children are on the benches or on the court. Coaches must wear masks except when they are socially distanced.
  2. In the NCAA division (Pre-K through Grade 2), each player is allowed only one family member to attend each game.
  3. In the NBA division (Grades 3 through 6), each player is allowed two family members to attend each game.
  4. Players, parents and coaches are expected to self-screen before each event and should only attend PSO events if they are symptom-free and have not been exposed to COVID-19.
  5. PSO will provide socially-distanced seating for the fans allotted per team.
  6. Fans will maintain social distancing while inside the gymnasium and while seated.
  7. Players, coaches and fans will enter the SFC gym through the main lobby. Do not enter the gym until the previous game’s teams have cleared the court area and exited the gym. After each game is over, we will ask all players, coaches and fans to exit through the west doors of the SFC. Congregating is not allowed in the building.
  8. Upon completion of a game, players, coaches and parents must leave immediately. After-game parent meetings and post-game snacks will not be allowed.
