PSO
offers adult softball in either men's or coed leagues. The league is
governed by the official USSSA rules and any amendments that are
specific to PSO’s leagues. Games are played at our recently renovated
facilities at Prestonwood Baptist Church and officiated by professional
umpires. PSO recently upgraded our fields with “field turf” to ensure
the best playing experience possible. Each of our leagues is discussed
below.
The
mission of the Sports Outreach Ministry is to glorify God by introducing
Jesus Christ to as many people as possible, using the vehicle of sports
and fitness in order to reach out to those around us with the message of
salvation in Jesus Christ.
Men's
Softball
The men's
slow-pitch softball league plays on Thursday nights. There are two
divisions: competitive and recreational. For more information on the
league, information about bringing in teams, or playing in the league,
contact
Mark Stratton, League Commissioner.
Each team’s coach needs to register his team online and pay a
registration fee of $350 per team. Each participant must register as a
player (there is not a fee per individual player registration) and
indicate what team/coach he will be playing for. Only the team
captain should register the team online. Individuals not currently
on a team that desire to play should register as an individual player
and indicate on his registration that he needs to be placed on a team.
Promptly after registering, the player needing to be placed on a team
should contact
Mark Stratton and inform him of their registration.
The
men's league will consist of an 8 game season. Games are scheduled
between 7 and 10 PM on Thursday nights. Rainouts will be added to the
end of the season. At the conclusion of the season, a single
elimination playoff will be held with the brackets being based on that
season's standings.
