This league will improve the skill and confidence of each
player in the sport of soccer, while developing character through teamwork
and encouragement.
What is PSO?
Prestonwood Sports
Organization was established in1999 to provide an opportunity for
children to learn about soccer, sportsmanship and teamwork in a loving
and supportive atmosphere. PSO focuses on developing essential
fundamental skills while providing fun and competitive games. We require
that all players play half of every game.
Coaches
PSO leagues strive
to make every child a champion. Therefore, PSO coaches are trained to encourage,
motivate, and build each child’s self esteem as well as his or her
athletic ability.
All PSO coaches
are required to complete a thorough background check along with a coach
certification program and exam. If you are interested in coaching a
team, please contact
Cathy Kinder at
ckinder@prestonwood.org or at 972-820-5226 and complete the free
online coach registration by clicking

Practice Schedules
Coaches, along
with input from the team, will determine the location and time of your
child’s practices. Coaches will not schedule more than two practices per
week.
League
Schedules
This will be a eight game season beginning
Saturday, February 11th.
Regularly-scheduled season games will be played on Saturdays. The
post-season tournament for qualified U7, U8, U9, U10, U11 and U12 teams
will be held following the last game of the season.
Game
Locations
All games are played on manicured fields, sized for the individual
leagues. The PSO fields are located along Plano Parkway, west of Midway.
Team
Formation
Teams are formed based on age and ZIP code. PSO accepts full or partial
teams. Players will be placed on teams after the final registration
deadline. A player CANNOT be assigned to a team unless the online
registration is complete and payment has been received. There are
three player placement possibilities:
1. Team Player
– Players on a current team should notify their coach of intent to
return no later than December 1st. If you are
a returning coach, please submit a roster to your PSO division League
Director to confirm returning or new players on your team no later than
December 16th. PSO reserves the right to
place players on any formed team.
2. Player Pool
– Players entering PSO who are not on an established team will be placed
on teams as close as possible to their ZIP code and/or school. Please
indicate any special notes in the “Preferred Coach” section of online
registration.
3. Draft Pool
— Players who register after the January
8th
deadline will not be guaranteed placement on a team. Consideration will
be on a “first come, first served” basis depending on the number of
openings on current teams. Otherwise, players might be placed on a
newly-formed team based on the availability of a coach.
Age
Brackets
Participants will play in the corresponding age division. A copy of the
player’s birth certificate is required prior to playing in any PSO
games, unless a copy is on file from the previous year.
