Player Participation
Many of our players are new, first-time football players in
each age group. All players are required to start on offense
or defense and play a minimum of half the game, through
three quarters. The season begins the first Saturday after
Labor Day and ends before Thanksgiving, with the exception
of games rescheduled due to inclement weather.
Player Weights
No child is excluded because of weight. Parents often fear
that larger players might fall on a smaller player and cause
injury. Football is one of the safest children's team
sports. Few serious injuries ever occur and every effort is
made to protect children. All players must be weighed by
August 25th by PSO staff and this will be their playing
weight for the season. The ball carrier weight in tackle
leagues cannot exceed: |
