PSO Sports - Upward League

The following dates, times and locations for the 2009-2010 season are subject to change.

September 1st	Online Registration Begins

October 24th*	MANDATORY Coach Training 9:00am - 10:30am Practice Sign up will occur before and after the meeting. Team rosters will be passed out at the end of the meeting. Location: Sports and Fitness Center (Room TBA) Head coaches and assistant coaches should attend.
October 29th*	MANDATORY Coach Training 7:00pm - 8:30pm Practice Sign up will occur before and after the meeting. Team rosters will be passed out at the end of the meeting. Location: Sports and Fitness Center (Room TBA) Head coaches and assistant coaches should attend.
Nov. 9th - 13th	Coaches contact players to inform them of team assignment and give them practice details.
November 12th	Practice Begins
Nov. 25th - 28th	No practices (Thanksgiving Holiday)
December 5th	Season Begins (First Game)
December 12th	Second Game

Game days
Games will primarily be played on Saturday mornings but could also include Friday evenings and/or Sunday afternoon. Games will be played at PSO or a gym in close proximity.

Practice days
Practices will be held during the weeknights with a possibility of some Sunday afternoons. They will be set by the coaches and league officials. We will not practice on Wednesday evenings. We will provide 1 hour of practice each week. Each team can practice additional time if they can secure court time at a location other than the Sports and Fitness Center at Prestonwood. No additional time will be provided through PSO. Practice and game location is subject to change.

Evaluation Requirements and Scheduled Days

Every participant MUST attend basketball evaluations.
Evaluations will take place Saturday, October 10th and 17th, as follows:

Evaluations for PreK & Kindergarten
PreK & Kindergarteners need to come in only for measurement and uniform sizing.
They can do so from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm on the evaluation day. These divisions will be distributed
equally by height. There will not be a formal evaluation process for PreK & Kindergarteners this year.

Actual evaluations take 15 to 20 minutes. Players will try on uniforms for proper sizing, be measured for correct height and complete a skills drill that incorporates dribbling, shooting and speed. The length of your stay will depend on the number of players to be evaluated and the number of evaluators. To keep the numbers spread out, please come during your scheduled time. If you have a conflict on BOTH Saturdays during your scheduled time, then you can come on either of those days at a time that fits your schedule.
