Leagues

  • Men's 19+ Monday evenings (March 24th games will be played on Friday, March 28th due to Easter weekend.)
  • Men's 39+ Tuesday evenings
  • Women's Thursday evenings
  • End-of-Season Tournament games may be played on other nights

League Features

  • A positive playing environment

  • Every player signs up as an individual so that all teams are evenly matched

  • You can pick one playing partner by listing that person as your preferred coach on the online registration form. That person MUST also list you when they register.

  • You don't have to have super-star talent to get playing time (every player is guaranteed to play at least half of each game)

  • Separate leagues for men and women

  • One team practice before season begins.  The practice will be held on your regular game night the week of Feb. 25th.  You can scrimmage another team if you choose (no officials provided).

  • All season long you can find all of your league Standings, Scores, Schedules, Bulletins, and other information on our website at: www.psosports.com

Game Uniforms

  • All players will receive a reversible mesh jersey at no additional cost.

  • Make sure that you have marked the correct jersey size on the online registration.  If your jersey size is not listed, please put that information in the "Preferred Coach / Comments" box.

  • If you have already registered and want to check the size that you have selected, follow these instructions:  On the PSO web page, click on "My Account" on the left hand side of the screen.  Then click on "Access My Account."  Next, click on "Manage Players."  Your name should be listed along with any children that you have registered in one of our leagues.  If your name is not listed, click on "Add a New Player" and fill out all of the information.  If your name is listed, click on your name and then select the correct jersey size at the bottom.

Season Schedule

  • Team practice begins the week of Feb. 25th.
  • Season starts the week of March 3rd for each league.
  • Season includes an 8-week regular season of 1 game per week at 6:30, 7:30 or 8:30 pm (these times may change depending on the number of teams).
  • Every team is included in the post-season single elimination playoffs.  Playoff games may be scheduled on any day of the week other than Wednesday in order to get all of the games played in a timely manner.
  • In the event that inclement weather causes the cancellation of games we will do our best to not change the tournament dates.  Regular season games may be rescheduled for any day other than Wednesday.  Games will be rescheduled on the first available date.

Fees

  • $55 league fee includes at least 9 games, a game jersey, and t-shirts for the Championship team.

Rules

Leadership

A League Coordinator is needed for each league to oversee the league, the draft and provide consistent communication with the PSO staff on any issues that arise during the season.
A Team Captain is needed for each team who will be responsible for:

  • working with the League Coordinator and other Team Captains to draft the teams.
  • communicating with the players about the schedule, rules, and any information put out by the PSO staff or the League Coordinator.
  • coordinating the substitution pattern during games.
  • leading the post game "Iron Time" devotion.
  • leading the prayer (or enlisting a member of his team to lead the prayer) with both teams prior to the start of the game (Home team captain is responsible for the pre-game prayer).
  • enlisting someone (other than a player in the game) to keep either the scorebook or the clock for each game.  Their should be both a scorebook keeper and a clock keeper (one provided by each team's captain) for each game at the score table at least 10 minutes prior to the game.
  • enlisting a prayer partner (can be a player on the team or someone else) who will commit to praying for the team and the league and coordinate prayer requests for that team.

The League Coordinator and the Team Captains are usually players in the league.  Anyone interested in being a League Coordinator or Team Captain should contact Brad Freeman at bfreeman@prestonwood.org.

Team Draft & Captains

Team Captains will meet on Draft Day to select teams.  The draft will be held at 6:00pm on Thursday, Feb. 21st in the Sports and Fitness Center.  Captains will be supplied with each player's age, height, playing experience, and position.  Captains will run the draft and determine the draft rules on draft day.  They will also be instructed on the format for game day devotions.  If you would like to be a Team Captain, please contact Brad Freeman by email at bfreeman@prestonwood.org.
